Presentation Guidelines and Templates

Oral Presentations
  • Presentation period

Oral presentations have a 15 minutes slot – please prepare a PowerPoint presentation that lasts for up to 10-12 minutes maximum to allow 3-5 minutes for discussion after your talk. This equates to roughly 10 slides excluding your title and acknowledgement slides. We will give you a warning at 11 minutes, so you have a minute to wrap up. We will be very strict about timing and will stop you when your 12 minutes time is up even if you have not finished.

    PES PPT TEMPLATE

It is strongly recommended that all presentations be in Microsoft PowerPoint (PPT), windows-based environment. Presenters wishing to use any operating system other than the above-mentioned must bring in their computer and will be responsible for its operation.

We recommend submit your presentation in advance via EDAS system. If you are not able to do that, please meet with the session support as early as possible (at the very latest 15 min before the start of the session of your presentation) to upload your slides from USB flash drive / memory stick.

Acceptable formats: PPT, PPTX and POTX (PowerPoint 97-2003/2007/2013) or PDF

  • Be sure you have embedded any multimedia objects (e.g., movies) in the slides
  • You may use any theme, although we recommend dark text on a light background
  • Be sure to provide your name on the title slide
  • Please number your slides
  • PLEASE label your file with the session number and your Name (e.g., D1_TS01_John Chan).
Poster Presentation
  • Poster boards

In general, one numbered poster board in portrait format is reserved for each poster paper with a clear dimension of the A0 standard format, i.e. 841 mm (width) x 1189 mm (height) or 33.11" (width) x 46.81" (height).

  • Poster preparation suggestions

Place the title of your paper prominently at the top of the poster board to allow viewers to identify your paper easily. Indicate the title and the author(s) names of your paper.

Highlight the author's name, affiliation and email information, in case the viewer is interested in contacting him/her for more information. Prepare all diagrams or charts neatly and legibly beforehand, in a size sufficient to be read at a distance of 1.5–2.0 meters. Use creativity by using different font
